🖥️ VMS Integration for DCM Dashboard Access
If using a VMS system that has this capability (see the previous “VMS systems that support extra integrations” sections for details), the VMS user will have the option to use the inbuilt Web browser of the VMS to display the full DCM dashboard without swapping between the two systems.
🔎 Investigating Alarms with DCM
For example – if an imported Alarm, alerts the user to a significant event at a particular DCM zone, such as high density, unexpectedly high flow or low mood, they may wish to investigate to decide if action is warranted.
One option is to just quickly check the live feed for the associated camera in the VMS to see what is going on. This gives a visual check of the current situation.
📊 Enhanced Detail with DCM Dashboard
However the DCM dashboard can provide more detail – for example – is the density in the area continuing to increase, or has it stabilised since the alarm was triggered?
Was the change in headcount or mood noticed by DCM in a sensitive area a sudden response to a specific event, or a more gradual long term trend that happened to pass a threshold level?
Both may require intervention by security staff, but the former situation may require high priority action.
The DCM dashboard can provide this context via its trend graphs of density, flow and mood, and can now be quickly checked without leaving the VMS dashboard.
🔗 Accessing the DCM Dashboard from VMS
To check the full details in DCM to decide if action is warranted, without leaving the VMS dashboard, the user can quickly launch the VMS internal web browser and open the DCM Web based dashboard at the default URL for your instance of DCM.
Consult your VMS manual for details on setting up a permanent link to the Dashboard for convenient access. The DCM dashboard accessed in this way has full functionality, provided the version of your VMS meets the requirements specified in the earlier section.
